BlockVesl

PureTemp phase change materials are designed to absorb and release large quantities of thermal energy at specific temperatures. Twenty-three PureTemp PCMs have been designated as 100 percent biobased by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's BioPreferred program. MACROENCAPSULATION OPTIONS

PureTemp phase change material is now available in macroencapsulated form. These innovative Vesl containment devices have an enhanced surface-area-to-mass ratio. This means faster energy exchange and enhanced performance of the PCMs inside. Vesl products come in many shapes, sizes and temperature ranges and can be adapted to fit your specific requirements.

Stackable blocks to build your solution

The BlockVesl is a precisely engineered duct plate of specially engineered plastics designed to contain phase change material and efficiently transfer thermal energy. Whether stacked together, used to line the wall of a container or for another purpose, the BlockVesl is ideal for cold storage, refrigeration, air conditioning, heat recovery and heat storage.

Fast energy exchange on a massive scale

The MacroVesl is a high-capacity, multi-chambered container approximating sphere and blow-molded from specially engineered plastics. It is designed to contain phase change material and efficiently transfer thermal energy through fast charge and discharge even with very low temperature deltas. The MacroVesl is suited for a wide range of applications, including cold storage, refrigeration, air conditioning, heat recovery and thermal energy storage.

MatVesl

Flexible in every way

Designed for a wide variety of applications, these MatVesls are multi-layer barrier film packages, hermetically sealed and able to withstand long-term use. This sample is 11 inches x 42 inches, each weighing approximately 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds). Contact us for information on custom sizes.

MICROENCAPSULATION OPTIONS

The process of coating small amounts of phase change material, from 10 to 1000 microns, is called microencapsulation.

The three basic forms:
  • Powder: Particles of PCM are encased within a shell and immersed in a water solution. The water is then removed, leaving a powder of encapsulated PCM.
  • Cake: Particles of PCM are encased within a shell and then immersed in a water solution. Most of the water is removed, leaving a cake that is 30% water and 70% solids.
  • Slurry: Particles of PCM are encased within a shell and then immersed in a water solution. Some water is removed, leaving a slurry that is about 60% water and 40% solids.
